Windows SmartScreen Warnings

As Iridient X-Transformer is a brand new application and the first to be released for Windows from Iridient Digital, Inc. you may receive a warning dialog when first running the installer. Both the installer and the application itself are securely signed using a strong (SHA2) code signing certificate issued by a very reputable signing authority, DigiCert. Iridient Digital, Inc is a California based corporation and a registered Microsoft and Apple developer that has been in business for over 12 years. My Mac software, Iridient Developer, has been available for over 12 years and has an excellent reputation for being a high quality software product with excellent customer service.

However, on recent versions of Windows 8 and 10 the use of code signing from a reputable signing authority may still not be enough to prevent "SmartScreen" warnings for new programs from new publishers that have been downloaded from the internet. Hopefully, very shortly Microsoft will update their SmartScreen information for Iridient Digital and this warning will no longer display. The "SmartScreen" warning dialog looks something like this (on Windows 10):
SmartScreen Warning 1

Click "More Info" and the dialog will update to show the official publisher information for Iridient Digital, Inc. in US, California, Pacific Grove. Click the "Run Anyway" button to launch the installer. After clicking "More Info" the dialog should appear like this (on Windows 10):
SmartScreen Warning 2

Norton Anti-Virus Warnings

You may receive similar warnings or even removals of the software from some Norton anti-virus products. These warnings seem to be related to "reputation" of the program or the program not being installed on many systems. I anticipate these issues with Norton will also go away quickly as more and more people install and use the software.
